Would you reccomend a ninja 250 or a ZZR600 as a beginner bike?

am going to take the MSF course, but i have no prior experience. i was just wondeng because some people say that the ninja 250 cant handle highway speeds. i plan to drive 75-80MPH maybe 90MPH tops.|||Are those your only two options? It%26#039;s true the 250 may have trouble at 90mph, but the ZZR may be a bit much the other way (more power than you%26#039;re used too and heavy insurance cost, for good reason).

If possible I%26#039;d start with a 500 while you%26#039;re learning to ride, if you need a bike that will handle highway speed. There%26#039;s the Suzuki GS500, Kawasaki Ninja Ex500, even the Buell Blast (lower power but I%26#039;ve found it OK on the highway at 80), and they%26#039;re available much cheaper than the ZZR...|||So, youre planning on breaking the law??? Dude, you are a prime target for Highway Patrol and the reason our insurance prices are so high...

Ninja 250%26#039;s cant handle the highway? Thats weird - seeing as they have an entire race class made up of Ninja 250%26#039;s, whose top speed is around 105mph. Granted, it takes all day to get there, but they will go 105mph or so...

If anything, Id suggest the 600 simply because you would tire of a 250 within a year of learning how to ride it.

At least its good to see youre picking Kawasaki regardless! BLEED GREEN!! (Im a Kawasaki fan myself - a ZX7, a ZX7RR, and on my second Z1000 - first one got stolen.) |||Your best bet would be the ZZR600. The 250 at the speed you are averaging would be stressed. Find something that can cruise at those speeds comfortably.|||a 250 can handle highway speeds you may not have a whole lot of power but you could get it up to 90
