Can you put a wider back tire on the 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250r?

I like the looks of a wider tire in the rear of the bike. I am seriously considering purchasing a 250r, but I%26#039;d like the looks a lot more if it had a wider back tire. Is that possible to do or even a good idea? What are the pros/cons to a back tire? Does anyone know how much one would cost if it is possible? Riders help! Thanks in advance.|||The first guy is wrong. Wider tire equals less handling. It would be more difficult to corner on a wider tire. It only makes a different really with a jump from like a 170 to a 190. A 140 to 150 jump shouldn%26#039;t make that much of a difference. They are both very skinny tires.|||it may be possible to up one size.. IIRC, 250r should be using 140/55/17 tyres.. you can change up to 150/55/17 provided the swingarm allows so..

by changing to a boarder tyre, your FC will increase significatly as more surface area is in contact with the road, thus consuming more fuel.. but, you will have better cornering as the wider tyre allows more angles as you corner..

you can always try asking you local dealer before buying, some may actually change the tyre for you if you can bargain..|||wide tyres tend to make handling more difficult in bumpy corners, because the point of contact on a bump can be further away from the centerline of the tyre, causing the steering geometry to change further and the bike pitch about more. this can be dangerous with limited adhesion or bumpy corners-loose gravel etc.
