Do you have to take ninjustu to become like a ninja?

My friends keep on saying that to be like a ninja that you have to take ninjustu. Is this true?|||Do you want to be a Power Ranger or a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle?. Only thing worth mentioning is Taijitsu hand to hand. Forget all that other stuff about ninja swords and shruikens and wearing a black hood..whats your goal here?. Going to prowl around the neighborhood wearing a ninja outfit?. Great way to get arrested.|||To become %26quot;like a ninja%26quot;, I suspect you%26#039;d have to train %26quot;like a ninja%26quot;. This means far more than simply ninjutsu.

There are 18 disciplines for the ninja, which parallel the 18 disciplines for the samurai. They%26#039;re as follows:

Seishin-teki kyōyō (spiritual refinement)

Taijutsu (unarmed combat, using one%26#039;s body as the only weapon)

Kenjutsu (sword fighting)

Bōjutsu (stick and staff fighting)

Shurikenjutsu (throwing shuriken)

Sōjutsu (spear fighting)

Naginatajutsu (naginata fighting)

Kusarigamajutsu (kusarigama fighting)

Kayakujutsu (pyrotechnics and explosives)

Hensōjutsu (disguise and impersonation)

Shinobi-iri (stealth and entering methods)

Bajutsu (horsemanship)

Sui-ren (water training)

Bōryaku (tactic)

Chōhō (espionage)

Intonjutsu (escaping and concealment)

Tenmon (meteorology)

Chi-mon (geography)

While you may be thinking these sound simple enough, consider that what sounds like a basic category is actually highly specialized. Further, while categories in the ninja juhakkei may also be found in the samurai%26#039;s bugei juhappan, they%26#039;re not the same techniques, as focuses were different. Just for completeness (since the ninja did study both the juhakkei and juhappan), these are the other 18:

Kenjutsu (Swordmanship)

Battojutsu (Sword Drawing)

Sojutsu (Spear Fighting)

Naginatajutsu (Naginata Fighting)

Kyujutsu (Archery)

Kyuba (Mounted Archery)

Suijutsu, specifically To-suijutsu (Swimming)

Bōjutsu (Stick Fighting)

Nagamono (Polearm Fighting)

Torimono Dougu (Arresting Weapons)

Kakushi Buki Jutsu (Hidden Weapons)

Jujutsu (Unarmed Combat)

Shurikenjutsu (Blade Throwing)

Hojutsu (Musketry)

Jouhou Kaishuu (Information Gathering)

Chikujou (Fortifications)

Angou (Signaling)

Jinei/Heihou (Strategy and Tactics)|||Just like it would be hard to be a Judoka without training in Judo, it would be hard to be a Ninja without training in Ninpo.|||There are two spellings;Ninjutsu and Ninjitsu.Either way,you have to take classes,it will take 30 years to master. They start training young(under 10).Start meditating.Workout, there is finger knotting(ninja magic)that will be hard to do if not prepared. |||It helps because this was the sole martial art of ninjas. it doesn%26#039;t teach strength but technique to take the opponent out, using nerve strikes, balance, and stealth. It also has some pretty cool gloves.|||All you need to do is watch all of Sho Kosugi%26#039;s films. If you can%26#039;t get them all, then watch revenge of the ninja 7 times in one day and you will be a ninja.|||No but it probably helps alot|||You need new friends ! Chucked those losers !
