Why do some people beleive a Ninja To is better than a Katana?

Ninja%26#039;s used cheap dispensible to%26#039;s and other misc weapons. In a straight sword match they were always the lesser to the samuraii in skill unless they were a former samuraii themsevles. Why does hollywood and many this that Ninjas were such good swordsmen?|||Definately Samuraii were superior swordsman, Ninja were just assassins and did what ever they could to win. A Samuraii fought for honor and his blade was his soul. A Ninja To was considered dispensable and replaceable.

History books have shown and stated that Samuraii were the better swordsman. You do not have to be a time traveler to know this, just smart enough to read history books and learn.

I can see why you asked, Ive heard many times myself just how good a ninja is with a sword and as an Iado and Kendo practioner I do not agree they are.|||First off I have never seen a ninja vs. a samurai. None of us have, unless your a time traveler or really old. We can only go by what we have read or was told by someone about the past. I%26#039;m sure that in some cases a %26quot;ninja%26quot; would win in other cases the samurai would win. I could say that the ninja is mysterious and their is an air of danger surounding them so as humans we tend to be drawn in by that. As for the Samurai there is an air of honor and selflessness and as humans were drawn to that as well. Depending on our personal views as to which way we tend to be drawn. Just my thought, could be wrong.|||ninjas are good swordsmen, but not as goo as samurai.

Ninjas have no honor. They are assassins, not warriors|||I%26#039;m not gonna lie, I have a hard time figuring out why you care about this. I hope that doesn%26#039;t sound mean...|||I dunno, but Ryu Hayubasa can kick anyones ***.|||Ninja To is just a versatile tool that only a ninja can make the best use of. Apart from the obvious blade as a weapon the hilt is square, larger, %26amp; stronger than the samurai sword because the ninja would lean it against the corner of a wall and step up on it. The scabbard was open at the end to double as a powder blowgun or as a snorkel for breathing under water. The blade was blackened so not reflection from lights at night etc etc.

The Samurai spirit was in his sword (katana). They were works of art to be respected. A Samurai would never use his sword the way a ninja would.
